Statement
Dear Compatriots,
In addition to the statement issued by the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia concerning the operations of control checkpoints, we hereby inform you that from October 2, 14:00 local time, a number of restrictions and regulations shall apply due to security considerations arising from the Martial Law declared in the Republic of Armenia and in Artsakh.
In particular:
1. In order to ensure uninterrupted communication between Armenia and Artsakh and to ease traffic flows on roads, the movement of people and vehicles from the Republic of Armenia to the Artsakh Republic shall be restricted, except for transportations exercised for the needs of the Defense Army and the Government of Artsakh, and in exceptional cases, on the basis of a permission issued by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
To obtain such exit permits:
a. Individuals shall apply at info@gov.am, substantiating the purpose of the visit, enclosing photocopies of the identity papers of persons leaving for Artsakh,
b. Legal entities shall apply at info@gov.am, substantiating the purpose of the visit, attaching a photocopy of their Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN). Please be advised that citizens will be allowed to leave the Republic of Armenia only in case of exceptional need.
c. Local media shall apply at press@gov.am.
d. The diplomatic missions and consular services accredited in the Republic of Armenia, as well as the international organizations equated to them will have to apply at protocol@mfa.am.
e. International media outlets need to apply at media@mfa.am.
2. We strongly urge you to refrain from collecting and transporting goods to Artsakh through individual initiatives.
It should be borne in mind that any food, commodity or medicament is subject to specific rules of sorting, expiration, safety and storage that can only be determined by appropriate specialists. Therefore, any support should be provided through Marz administrations, community councils and local administrations, which will provide a list of necessary items.
3. A joint headquarters, headed by Chief of the Office of the Prime Minister Eduard Aghajanyan, has been set up to coordinate the process of providing welfare and material assistance to Artsakh. From October 2, 10:00 local time, the Martial Law Information Hotline will be operational under the Headquarters and available at 117, which you can call on all issues related to martial law, except for questions related to the Ministry of Defense.
