Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan receives U.S. Ambassador
On December 4, 2020, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy.
Tigran Avinyan said the Armenian government intends to advance the reform process launched in the past few years. He noted that work is underway to develop an anti-crisis economic program.
The parties discussed issues related to investment programs, business environment and digitization in the framework of bilateral cooperation agenda. Ambassador Lynne Tracy noted that the U.S.-Armenia interaction will provide maximum opportunities for mutual prosperity in countering common challenges and promoting reforms in Armenia.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the authorities of Armenia and Artsakh are making great efforts to settle the humanitarian crisis in the wake of Azerbaijan’s aggression. In this context, he stressed the importance of sustained cooperation with international partners, including the United States. Ambassador Tracy presented their ongoing humanitarian efforts.
Addressing the exchange of war prisoners, Tigran Avinyan emphasized that the “all for all” principle should be applied. He said the Armenian side is doing its utmost to speed up this process. Lynne Tracy assured of her readiness to engage in a constructive dialogue with the Deputy Prime Minister about how the United States can help the Government of Armenia in this matter.
