Moody's emphasizes effectiveness of Armenian government’s economic policy
A regular Cabinet meeting took place today, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Suren Papikyan.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy PM congratulated on the occasion of the Proclamation Day of the Republic of Artsakh, saying, ''Dear colleagues, September 2 is a very important and memorable day. I congratulate all of us on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Artsakh, wishing the Armenians of Artsakh endurance and will to withstand existing challenges’'.
Before starting the discussion of the issues on the agenda, the Deputy PM informed that on August 31 reputable international ''Moody's’' rating agency published a regular report, leaving the rating for Armenia the same, setting the current rating at Ba3, with a stable outlook.
Coronavirus statistics in the republic were presented. Spread of coronavirus among younger population is observed, progress is registered in the vaccination process. As of yesterday, 6394 tests were performed, of which 636 were positive, 19 deaths were registered. We have an 18-year-old young man who is in the intensive care unit. 650 citizens are in serious condition, 126 citizens are in extremely serious condition, 51 citizens are switched to artificial ventilation devices. At the moment, we are fully hospitalizing all citizens in need.
The Government made a decision to call elections of the City Councils of Stepanavan of Lori Province of Armenia, Kapan of Syunik Provincearz, Ijan of Tavush Province, to make ammendments to the Government decision No 2215-N of December 30, 2020, and to allocate funding to the Police of the Republic of Armenia.
It is envisaged to allocate 25 million 249 000 drams to the Police for the preparatory works, the funding will be implemented in the sidelines of the event "Organization of Local Self-Government Elections" of the state budget 2021.
The Government made a decision to make ammendments to the government decision No 201-L of February 28, 2019. The adoption of the decision is conditioned by the need to provide state support for ensuring the purveyance (procurement) of agricultural raw materials, particularly grape in the Republic of Armenia, as well as to improve the control over the implementation of the subsidy program for loan interest rates.
The Government made changes in its two decisions and adopted a new decision aimed at regulating the process of industrial whitefish fishery in Lake Sevan, which started from March 25, 2021.
The analysis of the current situation has raised a number of practical and legal issues that have been discussed with all stakeholders. For avoiding possible negative impact and to alleviate social problems, and agreement was reached to increase the quantity for 2021 by 50 tons and extend the fishery period until October 15, 2021. The project was discussed and agreed with the National Academy of Sciences.
