Suren Papikyan meets with Russian Deputy PM Alexander Novak
In the sidelines of the "Russian Energy Week" forum, Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Suren Papikyan met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. The current issues of the gas-energy programs between Armenia and Russia were discussed, as well as the prospects of deepening the regional cooperation in the field of electricity. In particular, reference was made to the opportunities of implementing the "North-South Electricity Corridor" initiative (Armenia-Iran-Georgia-Russia).
Among other meetings, Deputy Prime Minister Suren Papikyan spoke with Alexei Likhachev, General Director of ROSATOM State Corporation during the "Russian Energy Week" forum. The interlocutors referred to the deepening of cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, as well as the program of extending the term of operation of the existing power unit of the ANPP. The issues related to the construction of a new nuclear power unit in Armenia were also discussed.
