Government approves 50,000-dram increase in monthly honorary payments for Great Patriotic War veterans

A Cabinet meeting was held today, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan. To enhance the level of social protection of the Great Patriotic War veterans and better their living standards, the Government decided to double the amount of monthly honorary payments from AMD 50,000 to 100,000 offered to GPW veterans. Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan today received Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski. The interlocutors touched upon the current status of EU-Armenia relations, the ongoing programs and future initiatives. Mher Grigoryan and Piotr Switalski discussed the process of developing cooperation strategies, as well as the proposed judiciary reform and the fight against corruption.

Mesrobian School Students Hosted in the Government

On June 26, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan hosted a group of pupils from the Armenian Mesrobian School, who are in Armenia on a familiarization visit. The Deputy Premier presented the reforms implemented after the Velvet Revolution in Armenia’s political, economic, legal, cultural and other sectors. Reference was made to Armenia-Diaspora relations. The Armenian-born schoolchildren from California imparted impressions of their visit to Armenia.

Mher Grigoryan Chairs EAEU Council Meeting in Minsk
