The procedures applicable to technical control entities liberalized

The procedures applicable to vehicle technical control entities have been liberalized in accordance with RA Government’s decision. The matter was commented on by RA Minister of Transport and Communication Manuk Vardanyan during a briefing held today at the Government’s Press Center.

“The Government has amended to liberalize the rules and procedures applicable to vehicle control entities in the Republic of Armenia. Formerly they were supposed to attend a specific area under their terms of reference. This amendment provides that the citizens of the Republic of Armenia can henceforth have their cars examined wherever they wish,” the minister said.

According to Manuk Vardanyan, a limited number of 31 checkup stations are currently operational in the country.

“We have marzes with only one or two such outlets. For instance, only one such entity is operational in Vayots-Dzor marz, which means that people have to go elsewhere for checkups,” the speaker said and added that the stipulated increase in the number of control stations will facilitate the process considerably.
