A farming and traveling center to be founded in the area next to Paskevich Bridge



The briefing held at the Government Press Center after the cabinet sitting treated the Government-approved project on construction of a specialized farming and traveling complex off the Paskevich Bridge in Vaik town community of Vaiots-Dzor marz.

The matter was commented on by RA Minister of Urban Development Vardan Vardanyan. The project was said to have been earmarked 7-8ha extra area in the same zone to take under control development activities in the town and build a 150-suite hotel complex. This project is supposed to promote regional tourism in Armenia.

The speaker further advised that local farming enterprises and craft industries will be set up to boost agriculture and handicrafts in this area. Under this project, the most distinguished private houses in adjacent rural settlements will be refurbished and reorganized into inns to enhance the local population’s living standards.

Vardan Vardanyan noted in this respect: “Estimates show that AMD 10mn worth of investment will be needed to launch the project. Notwithstanding, this is not the limit since all the necessary conditions are in place for expansion and extra investments.”
