Simpler registration procedures for legal persons
Today the Government approved a package of amendments to a number of Armenian laws. As Minister of Justice Gevorg Danielyan noted during the briefing that followed the cabinet sitting, as a result of this initiative, twice as fewer documents will be needed for registration of legal persons in Armenia. The applicants will have to produce only their identity papers, the company statutes and the State duties settlement receipts.
“Administrative bodies are part of a single system. Therefore, they must turn to each other every time they need some information. Citizens should not be involved in this process taking the risk of becoming small administrative tools in the hands of public servants,” the Minister said adding that this will help save a lot of time and money.
“This is a new approach in the sphere of public administration aimed at minimizing the possibility of citizen-agency contacts,” Gevorg Danielyan mentioned.
The proposed bills provide that a single agency will be processing the papers needed for company registration in cooperation with other State agencies.
The laws still in force stipulate that self-employed persons must seek State registration. According to the Minister of Justice, this requirement of State registration is today deemed as an ill-grounded extra liability for entrepreneurs. In this respect, it fails to comply with the government’s policy of shaping a business-friendly environment in the country.
Under this initiative, the self-employed will be exempted from the obligation of keeping a seal. This is supposed to simplify the procedure to follow in providing trade marks, registering and putting on record business companies and so on.
