Armenia’s national youth report to promote passage of a more realistic youth law
The findings of those complex polls and surveys covering the citizens of 18-30, which were conducted in an effort to develop the State youth policy, will be reflected in Armenia’s national youth report, due to be published in December, 2011. Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Arsen Karamyan told the press conference which was held today at the government’s press center.
A similar report was said to have been successfully published in 2006-2007: “We all understand that the youth-related problems have been subject to certain transformations due to drastic changes underway worldwide,” the deputy minister said pointing out the lack in statistical and formal data concerning Armenian youth.
The speaker spoke about those 3 key areas in focus: high-quality and affordable education, employment, improved health and reproduction. The nationwide survey will start this May to last until the end of October. The report will be available in Armenian in the second half of December, 2011, with the English text to be published in January-February, 2012.
Concerning the draft law on youth, Arsen Karamyan advised that the Prime Minister has called it back from the National Assembly for finalization. According to the speaker, the national report will help the government to table a more realistic and improvement-oriented law.
