Real Estate State Registration Procedures Simplified
At the press conference held following today’s cabinet sitting, Deputy Head of State Committee on Immovable Property Cadastre by the Government Ashot Musayan introduced the government-approved bills on amendments to the laws on State registration of property rights, remuneration of civil servants, as well as to the Civil Code of Republic Armenia.
Essential changes have been brought to the bill on State registration of immovable property. Until now, the bulk of registration of real estate ownership rights was carried out by the field units of the State Committee on Immovable Property Cadastre by the Government. Under the new order, servicing offices will accept and process applications filed by citizens along with the supporting documents.
According to the speaker, the government thereby seeks to rule out the possibility of direct contact between citizens and public officials in a bid to curb the existing corruption risks.
Servicing offices shall get the documents online which will be forwarded to the local division of the Committee. The designated public official shall either register the right in case of conformity or decline it case of discrepancy. The documents will be returned to the servicing office in the same manner.
The same procedure shall be applied in registering the ownership title. “Citizens can apply to local offices to get their titles registered anywhere in the Republic Armenia, Here, the way is paved for online reception and registration of applications. In the same manner, citizens will get the needed information” the speaker has noted.
The list of documents required for registration of ownership rights has been specified accordingly.
