Public Electronic Payments System To Be Introduced In Armenia
A public system of electronic payments will be introduced in Armenia in a couple of weeks. Chief of Government Staff David Sargsyan told today’s news conference that the new electronic management tool will allow the citizens to make payments mediating Arca and Master cards.
“Some 1500 types of payments can be implemented through the system, inclusive of fines, penalties, duties, fees and so on. Local payments by the Yerevan, Gyumri an Vanadzor town halls will likewise be carried out through the given system which is due to be introduced in other regions as well. People will no longer need to call at a bank or public service headquarters to make a payment,” David Sargsyan advised.
According to the Chief of Government Staff, the system will help considerably reduce the amount of service fees. For instance, citizens will have to pay out some 8-10 drams as a commission for 2-3 thousand dram-worth settlements.
The decision on the launch of a public electronic payment system was adopted by the April 19 Cabinet sitting.
