Armenia Allocated Humanitarian Aid to Iran
The activities of providing humanitarian aids to different countries are in the center of the attention of the Armenian government. At the press conference held at the Government’s press center, RA Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan informed, that Armenia provided 57 million AMD humanitarian aid to Iran, suffered from the earthquake on August 11. 26 thousand boxes of different kinds of canned food, about 40 thousand liters of drinking water, 81 tents, 1000 coverings, 6000 sheets, 300 mattresses, 460 sleeping bags and 100 monkey beds were sent to Iran.
Armen Yeritsyan said that the Armenian side has offered to provide the Iranian partners with rescue forces, but the authorities of the neighboring country preferred to implement those works on their own.
RA Minister of Emergency Situations informed that during the meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organizations, held in Belarus, an agreement was reached with RF Ministry of Emergency Situations to create a humanitarian regional center in our country. The center is expected to start operating in the coming year.
According to Armen Yeritsyan, development works have been carried out in the seismic center of RA Ministry of Emergency Situations, particularly, in the Garni center. The minister also assured, that currently 911 service is operating at its best and every moment receives information about disasters from all over the world.
