Irregularities Detected With Cheese Manufacturers
Intestinal disease bacilli have been detected in the products (mainly “Chanakh”) manufactured by 18 out of 59 Armenian companies engaged in the production of cheese.
As Head of Ministry of Agriculture-affiliated State Food Safety Service Abram Bakhchagulyan told today’s press conference, which was held at the Government Press Center, the targeted companies have been banned with about 5.5 tons of cheese destroyed. According to the speaker, they may resume operations only after the stated irregularities have been addressed.
In turn, Deputy Head of State Revenue Committee by the Government Vakhtang Mirumyan dwelt on the cabinet sitting-approved amendments to the law “On application of cash registers in the Republic of Armenia.”
According to the speaker, the bill envisages a delay in the timetable for introduction of new cash-registers as of January 1, 2013, putting it up to July 1, 2013.
“As you may know, under the applicable law, January 1, 2013 is the deadline for the launch of new cash-registers. However, in order to conduct the process more smoothly, it was decided to extend it until July 1, 2013.”
He stressed that the arrangement affects those business entities having posted sales worth AMD 500m and over last year. Smaller entities will face the deadline of January 1, 2015.
With reference to another decision passed by the government, V. Mirumyan advised that it had been decided to set up a Cash Register Introduction Office SNCO, authorizing the State Revenue Committee by the Government to supervise the SNCO. The newly established entity will be responsible for the introduction and maintenance of new-generation cash-registers in accordance with the Armenian legislation.
