Cheese Industry Development Programs Presented
After several irregularities had been revealed in the cheese industry under a State control campaign, 17 out of 18 sanctioned companies have already resumed their activities.
As acting head of the State Food Safety and Quality Control Inspectorate Arman Araratyan told the news conference, which was held following today’s cabinet suiting, the offenders have taken all the necessary measures to rule out breaches and failures ahead.
Concerning the question of intestinal bacilli, he said that they are salt-resistant. “Follow the manufacturers and as a result there has been no appeal to them given the maximum support for the paper and electronic versions of their definitions in the regulations and norms,” Mr. Araratyan said.
Presenting cheese industry development programs, Director General of the Armenian Development Agency Robert Harutyunyan advised that an entity referred to as Armenian Cheese was established in 2009 to promote this sector and increase the exports.
According to the speaker, a lot of work has been done since, including the startup, the launch of a corporate website, as well as the government-issued permit for exporting cheese to Russia.
“The Armenian Development Agency has invested a total of 3 million drams over the past 3 years to run and develop the company,” Mr. Harutyunyan noted. He said the agency had helped export two batches, 5 tons and 20 tons each, with no quality-related customer objections whatsoeveron the part of Russian consumers.
The ADA Director General said that the recent measures allowed them to study the market and the sphere in more detail.
Acting Director of the State Agency National Center for Legislative Regulation Public Enterprise by the Government Staff Armen Yeghiazaryan dwelt on the package of amendments to the law “On e-communication” and two other legal acts.
The new arrangement will reduce the number of permits needed for the assignment of radio frequencies, numbers, or codes.
