SCPEC Has Made More than 200 Decisions Regarding the Anticompetitive Actions of Unscrupulous Businessmen
As of December 24, 2012, RA State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition has made 214 decisions regarding the anticompetitive actions of unscrupulous businessmen.
SCPEC President Artak Shaboyan presented the details during the last conference of the year, held at the government’s press centre. He noted that as a result of these decisions a penalty of about 250 million drams was set. “The court appeals of the decisions are very important for the commission,” said the president of SCPEC and added, that only 7 decisions made by the commission were appealed in court, 3 of which ended in favor of SCPEC.
According to Artak Shaboyan, the commission has conducted many researches in a number of areas throughout the year, in particular, gasoline, diesel fuel, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, dairy products, sausages production, communication, transport, etc. “Many problems were discovered during the researches, and the abusive economic entities were held responsible,” said the president of the commission.
