No new well-drilling permits to be issued for Ararat and Armavir Marz fisheries

The Government tightened control of well drilling activities. As Minister of Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan told today the Government Press Center-hosted press conference, this will help introduce stricter control mechanisms over illegal well operations.

With another decision, the meeting approved a procedure for getting water-use permits for illegal or disused wells, as well as for their conservation and liquidation.

According to the Minister, no new well-drilling permits will be issued for Ararat and Armavir Marz fisheries. An interagency commission will be set up under the Prime Minister’s decision to discuss and assess the bids received by April 1, 2014 in the Ministry of Nature Protection.
