New Generation Cash Registers To Be Introduced Gradually
According to the government’s latest decision, the new-generation cash registers shall be introduced step by step for specific groups of SME taxpayers. Namely, instead of July 1, 2014 as projected, they will be introduced as follows: August 1, October 1, 2014 and January 1, 2015. This is what Deputy Minister of Finance Armen Alaverdyan told the Government Press Center-hosted news conference.
“Based on the need to promote small and medium-size enterprise, the government passed a decision favorable for SME both in timing and financial terms,” Armen Alaverdyan emphasized.
The speaker advised that SME taxpayers were allowed to get the cash registers at differentiated prices. The cash registers will be provided free of charge in border villages, while other villages will be entitled to a 50% reduction on the differentiated price.
Note that under the government decree of September 5, 2013 “On establishing deadlines for online submission of summary statements on cash register-operated daily transactions,” SME taxpayers were supposed to shift to new-generation cash registers as of this July 1. The new decision extends the stipulated deadlines and divides SMEs into different groups of taxpayers.
