Healthcare Minister Provides Details of Kindergarten Food Poisoning Incident
At the Government Press Center-hosted news conference, Minister of Healthcare Armen Mouradyan referred to the kindergarten food poisoning incident that happened in Yeghvard on November 28, 2014.
A series of therapeutic and preventive measures were said to have been taken to prevent the proliferation of the disease.
Mr Mouradyan said that a total of 86 patients had been hospitalized following the incident. Almost all the affected children have been discharged from hospital. At this point, two children are being treated at the Nork central hospital of infectious diseases, while 4 other children and an adult are getting treatment at the hospital of Yeghvard.
A. Mouradyan advised that studies have identified dysentery disease, also known as the “dirty hands” disease, which occurs in everyday conditions.
Criminal proceedings have been launched to reveal the source of infection in cooperation with the competent authorities. In conclusion, Mr Mouradyan said that the work is going on and the affected kids are under control.
