Cabinet accepts proposal on simplifying licensing rules and regulations
The Government approved a package of draft amendments to the Law on Licensing Fees and about a dozen other laws and legal acts in an effort to streamline the sphere and improve the business climate. As Armen Yeghiazaryan, Director of the National Center for Legislative Regulation S.A. told the Government Press Center-hosted news conference, speaking in logical terms, the bill consists of two different sections.
In the first section, licensing fees are set for some activities carried out by individuals, including the self-employed, while the second section covers the activities implemented by legal persons and individual entrepreneurs. According to Armen Yeghiazaryan, the bill suggests introducing a new type of tax – license tax – for the first group. In addition, it is proposed to exempt those entities exclusively engaged in activities subject to license fees from the obligation of filing profit tax statements.
