Army service pensions to be raised as of July 1
The Government decided that as of July 1, 2015, the size of military pensions will be raised. This decision was taken at today’s Cabinet sitting. As Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan told the Government Press Center-hosted news conference following the Cabinet sitting, the base pension amount for the calculation of servicemen’s pensions will be AMD16 thousand instead of the currently applicable AMD14 thousand; the cost of one year of military service will be AMD1500, instead of AMD1300.
“The continued increase in pensions is among the Government’s priorities,” the Minister said, adding that the average amount of pension for long military service will increase by 14 percent.
