Outstanding Armenian statesman and politician Aleksan Matevosovich Kirakosyan has died. His life and activity were closely related to the development of our country, strengthening of statehood, constitution of various branches of national economy, expansion of culture, as well as the decision of several engineering tasks and social problems in the countryside.




Aleksan Kirakosyan has made an invaluable contribution as to the effective use of landed and water resources of our country, restoration and preservation of cultural - historical monuments, solution of various nature protection-related and other tasks.




Aleksan Kirakosyan loved his native land, had a patriotic and principled stance. He was impartial, full of care for the development of all vital spheres of Armenia. To the last moment of life, he had a strong belief in the strengthening of our country and statehood, building up its security, strengthening of ties between Homeland and the Diaspora. He believed that the people of Armenia, supported by their exceptional diligence and wisdom, would overcome all difficulties, and Armenia would become a developed and prosperous country.




Aleksan Kirakosyan was a person of comprehensive knowledge, who knew well the centuries-old history and culture of his people. He was a remarkable father, a reliable and devoted friend.




Aleksan Kirakosyan was born on August 18, 1918, in Ajgabats village of Akhurian region, in a family of peasants.




In 1936, he graduated from the teacher-training college of Leninakan town. In 1952 he took an external degree from the philological faculty of Yerevan
