Hamo Sahyan 100th Anniversary Preparation Committee Holds Meeting
The Hamo Sahyan 100th Anniversary Preparation Committee met today in the Office of Government, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister, Acting Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan.
Acting Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan reported that numerous exciting events will held during the year. In particular, on April 14 - Hamo Sahyan’s birth date – the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater will host a gala event dedicated to the famous Armenian poet.
The refurbishment of Hamo Sahyan’s home-museum will be complete in Syunik Marz by this yearend, with the poet’s bust to be inaugurated in the backyard of the museum. The inventory of commemorative events include as follows: publication of a four-volume collection of Sahyan’s poems, a poetry festival after Sahyan, various functions held in libraries and cultural centers, as well as a documentary film dedicated to the poet.
The program of activities was approved by the Commission.
